Online therapy across South Carolina

Therapy that looks for the root, not just the symptoms

You've tried to push through. Maybe you've even tried therapy. But the anxiety, the shutdowns, or the relationship that leaves you second-guessing yourself keeps coming back. Let's find out why.

I'm Bridget, a therapist in South Carolina offering online sessions statewide and limited in-person sessions in North Charleston, for adults, kids, and parents. I offer private pay sessions with superbills on request, plus limited openings for Aetna, Cigna, and some SC Medicaid plans. Every new client starts with a free 15-minute consultation.

Does this sound familiar?

You understand your story. You're still stuck in it.

You've spent years in talk therapy. You can explain what happened. But your body still reacts like the hard thing is happening right now.

You've been told it's anxiety, maybe depression. Part of you wonders whether something else has been going on all along. You hold it together at work, then fall apart at home, worn out from performing "normal" all day.

You keep replaying conversations with a partner, a parent, or someone at church. You wonder if you're too sensitive, or if something is really wrong.

Or your child's meltdowns are taking over the house, and every expert gives you a different answer. ADHD? Trauma? Something you did?

You're not broken, and you're not alone. You may need a different approach.

Why private pay

Therapy built around you, not an insurance claim

Insurance companies decide how many sessions you get, how long they run, and which diagnosis goes in your record. Private pay puts those decisions back with you and me.

More time, fewer limits

We set session length and frequency by what helps you. EMDR often goes better with longer sessions, and private pay makes that possible.

Privacy that stays yours

No insurer needs a diagnosis to approve your care. If you submit a superbill for reimbursement, you decide what goes to your insurance company.

Care that goes deeper

A small caseload means I prepare for every session and create resources for what you're working on. You leave with practical skills, and homework if you want it.

How I can help

Two areas of focus, one question underneath

Is it trauma, neurodivergence, or both? Sorting that out changes everything about what helps.

Trauma, EMDR, and toxic relationships

EMDR helps your brain and body reprocess memories that keep firing as if they're happening now. I also help you untangle confusing relationships: toxic or abusive, covert narcissism, attachment wounds, and church hurt.

Neurodiversity-affirming care for women, kids, and families

Many women learn in their 20s or 30s that ADHD or autism sat beneath years of anxiety and burnout. I help you explore that question and build a life that fits your brain. For parents of kids 2 and up, my parent program gives you tools that work at home.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you take insurance?

I have limited openings for clients using Aetna, Cigna, and some South Carolina Medicaid plans. If I don't have an opening for your plan, you can work with me as a private pay client, and I can give you a superbill to submit on your own.

What are your rates?

Your first session (intake) is $125. Follow-up sessions are $100, including individual, parent, and EMDR sessions.

Do you provide superbills?

Yes, on request. A superbill is a receipt with the codes your insurer needs to process an out-of-network claim. It includes a diagnosis code, so we'll talk it through before you decide to submit.

How does out-of-network reimbursement work?

You pay me directly, submit the superbill, and your insurer reimburses you based on your out-of-network benefits. Plans vary, and some don't reimburse services from a counselor associate. Call the number on your card and ask: Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits? What is my deductible? Do you reimburse services from a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A)?

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to a written estimate of what your care will cost. You'll get one when you schedule, or anytime you ask.

Is online therapy as effective as in-person?

For most people, yes. EMDR works well over secure video, and many clients open up more easily from their own space. You need to be physically in South Carolina during each session.

Do you work with young children online?

Yes, with parents closely involved. I usually meet with parents first, without your child present, so you can speak freely. Then I meet your child.

Do I have to be a Christian?

No. Faith is part of counseling only if you ask for it. I work with people from every background and belief.
