Insurance

I have a limited number of openings for clients using Aetna, Cigna, and some South Carolina Medicaid plans. Coverage depends on your specific plan, and your copay or deductible applies. Reach out with your plan name and I'll let you know whether I have an opening.

If I don't have an insurance opening or don't take your plan, you can still work with me as a private pay client and use a superbill for possible reimbursement.

Online and in-person sessions

Online sessions are available to clients located anywhere in South Carolina, Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm ET. I also have a limited number of in-person sessions in Johns Island on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Ask about availability when you book your consult.

How payment works

You'll pay securely through my client portal at the time of each session. After your consult, you'll receive portal access along with your intake forms and your Good Faith Estimate.

Superbills for out-of-network reimbursement

A superbill is a detailed receipt with the codes your insurance company needs to process an out-of-network claim. I'm happy to provide one for any private pay session. Just ask during a session, through the client portal, or with the contact form, and let me know whether you'd like one after each session or once a month.

Superbills include a diagnosis code, so we'll talk it through before you decide to submit. Plans vary, and some don't reimburse services from a counselor associate. Before you count on reimbursement, call the number on your insurance card and ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

  • What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much have I met?

  • What percentage do you reimburse after the deductible?

  • Do you reimburse services from a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A)?

  • How do I submit a claim, and how long does reimbursement take?

Your right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, if you are uninsured or not using insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your care. You'll receive one in writing when you schedule, and you can ask for one anytime.

If you're billed at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Keep a copy of your estimate. For more information, visit cms.gov/nosurprises.
